Age-structure density-dependent fertility and individuals dispersal in a population model.

•The population is structured by age (juvenile and adults) and space (distributed in two patches).•We introduce age structure in the density dependent fertility function and basic shapes that extend the usual ones.•Under a timescales assumption we extend the reproductive number and the bifurcation direction at the meta-population level.•The interplay between age and dispersal may lead viable/unviable unconnected patches to extinction/persist when connected.•The above referred quantities are related with environment management.
