Abstract
The incidence of Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE) colonization is increasing. VRE colonization increases the likelihood of VRE infection for which therapeutic options are limited. Most reported pediatric VRE outbreaks have occurred on hematology/oncology units. An outbreak investigation was initiated after an unusual number of VRE cases were identified between 20 February and 2 August, 2012.
