Abstract
Microwave discharge was initiated in Ti-B mixture in nitrogen atmosphere at radiation intensities up to 8 kW/cm(2). The space concentration of Ti in the powder mixture was of 10 and 20%. The reaction Ti + B with synthesis of boron nitride and titanium diboride occurred in the whole of the reactor volume and its products were deposited on both the walls of the cylinder and the other surfaces inside the reactor. According to the X-ray phase analysis, energy-dispersive microanalysis, Raman spectrogram and electron microphotography, the titanium diboride and boron nitride structures were obtained.
