Variante Anatómica De La Arteria Vertebral Izquierda Y Sus Implicaciones Clínico-Quirúrgicas. Reporte De Caso

This article introduces and describes a variant in the origin of the left vertebral artery in the aortic arch, as a case study. Such finding is relevant because it is related to diagnostic radiology and endovascular therapy, which has been strengthened in the era of the vascular Stents and endocranial interventions. The variant was found during a medical-forensic necropsy on a shot man, conducted in the National Institution of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Medellin (Colombia). The atypical finding of the artery origin was verified in the available literature and its potential clinical and surgical implications.
