PURPOSE: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is characterized by repeated cycles of hypoxia occurring during sleep. This may cause the hypoxic oxidative stress (HOS). HOS may result in elevated levels of serum homocysteine in these patients. Few studies assessed serum levels of homocysteine among patients of OSA.
