Internal stress prediction on injection molded part of fiber reinforced polymer based on multiscale model

Based on the microstructure characteristics of injection molded parts manufactured by fiber reinforced polymers, a multiscale mechanics model was studied to predict the internal stress of the part. Representative Volume Element(RVE) was set in order to describe the micro structure of the composites, and its periodic boundary conditions were deduced. The procedure on coupling the macroscopic with microscopic levels of the material was instructed in detail. The model may be a new effective approach to improve the prediction accuracy for internal stress of the injection molded part, especially for fiber-reinforced composites.
