Investigation Report about Upgrading and Key Technology of Natural Rubber Industry in China——Thoughts and Suggestions for Selective Breeding and Extension of Rubber Tree Varieties

Based on a survey about rubber industry development in three major rubber planting provinces Hainan,Yunnan and Guangdong,this paper briefly expounds the role of science and technology in promoting breeding and extension of rubber tree varieties.It also discusses and analyzes issues of rubber tree breeding and variety extension facing rubber industry development,such as too unitary cultivar,weak ability to resist natural disaster,tardiness in extending new variety,unsatisfactory breeding for native applicable variety,low accuracy of early predicting technology,poor creation and utilization for germplasm resources,lacking of effective genetic transformation system,etc.Before ending,the paper puts forward suggestions for future research.
