Abstract
Magnetic and calorimetric studies show that the ${\mathrm{PrAg}}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathrm{x}}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{\mathrm{x}}$ compounds of CsCl-type structure are antiferromagnetic, with ${T}_{N}$ decreasing from \ensuremath{\approxeq}10.5 K (x=0) to \ensuremath{\approxeq}8.5 K (x=0.4). Below ${T}_{N}$, the magnetization (M) behavior at low fields (H) is anomalous but distinct from the weak ferromagnetism reported earlier for PrAg; the behavior at higher H indicates the occurrence of a spin-flop transition. For x=0 the peak in the magnetic specific heat (${C}_{m}$) at ${T}_{N}$ is very sharp and its temperature is weakly dependent on H (up to 42 kOe), whereas for x=0.25 and 0.4 it is much broader and decreases rapidly in T with rising H. For PrAg at T(1/2)${T}_{N}$, ${C}_{m}$\ensuremath{\propto}${T}^{3}$ with a
