Value of Hysteroscopy in Differential Diagnosis of Suspected Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia

Objective To study the value of hysteroscopy in differential diagnosis of suspected gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN). Methods A total of 9 suspected gestational trophoblastic neoplasia patients after artifical or drug abortion underwent hysteroscopy were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among those 9 patients, 8 of them had residual pregnancy tissue, 5 of which were cornual pregnancy and cured by curettage, 1 was diagnosed as gestational trophoblastic neoplasia and cured by chemotherapy. Conclusion Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia patients with postabortal continuous irregular vaginal bleeding and abnormal serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) can be diagnosed by hysteroscopy to prevent unnecessary over-treatment.
