CDN Load Balancing Algorithm Based on Playback Volume and Server Remaining Resources

When employing CDN for acceleration of streaming media, it is crucial to consider server performance limitations, as failure to do so might negatively impact acceleration results. Traditional CDN load balancing only takes into account network loads, providing limited flexibility in adjusting file servers, and consequently poor adaptability. To address this issue, this article proposes a load balancing algorithm based on Playback Volume and Server Remaining Resources, which can effectively construct a streaming media distribution network and improve CDN performance and efficiency. Specifically, this algorithm calculates the playback volume of each terminal video, dynamically selects CDN acceleration servers, optimizing the CDN network in real time. By employing this method, CDN server load can be effectively alleviated, resulting in improved file hit rates. Experimental results indicate that this algorithm can better adapt to different network environments and server resource conditions, significantly improving video transmission quality, and better meeting user needs and expectations.
