摘要
In this work, a novel amplitude modulation mechanism, namely polarization correlation, is proposed. And a transmission-reflection-integrated element with flexible polarization conversion based on the proposed mechanism is designed and verified. The proposed element features two channels for transmission and reflection with an ability to modulate the amplitude and phase independently. The amplitude ratio of transmission and reflection can be adjusted from 1:1 to full transmission without reflection. Several transmission-reflection-integrated metasurfaces (MSs) are also designed for verification. The simulated and measured results finally demonstrate the polarization correlation mechanism and the performance of the proposed element and also show that the proposed MS holds immense potential in the applications that require full space manipulation of electromagnetic (EM) waves, such as point-to-multipoint communications and bidirectional imaging.
