Generalized DSC-FDC-PLL Based Synchronization of PV Array-BES Fed Water Pump System With Utility Grid

During grid-outage, photovoltaic array and battery supported water pump system with grid connection is operated in an islanded-mode. It is necessary to facilitate synchronization of system with grid to realize on-demand water pumping and to increase utilization of system. Thus, a generalized delayed signal cancellation (GDSC) with frequency drift compensation (FDC) based phase locked loop (PLL) to realize grid synchronization is presented in this article. The developed GDSC-FDC-PLL removes all harmonic components till 15th order and dc-offset. The nonadaptive DSC blocks are used to implement the presented PLL to reduce computational load. Besides, a compensation is applied in the presented PLL due to use of nonadaptive DSC. Meanwhile, GDSC-QSG based current and voltage controls are realized in grid-connected and islanded modes. The merits of the presented PLL are demonstrated by performing its in-depth analysis. Test performances for different operating modes are acquired to validate the effectiveness of the developed PLL.
