Bulk anisotropic Nd2Fe14B/-Fe nanocomposite magnet prepared by hot rolling

It is difficult to fabricate large -sized bulk anisotropic nanocomposite magnets with a high content of soft phase (>= 20 wt%) using an economical preparation technique. Here, a large -sized anisotropic Nd2Fe14B/alpha-Fe nanocomposite was prepared by commercial hot rolling. The prepared nanocomposite possessed a Nd2Fe14B phase with an apparent (00l) texture and an alpha-Fe phase with a fraction of 32.8 wt%. The grain sizes of these two phases were -47 nm and -37 nm, respectively. The nanocomposite exhibited an obvious magnetic anisotropy and a maximum energy product of (BH)max = 22.4 MGOe. This work provides a potential strategy for the practical production of large -sized and high-performance Nd2Fe14B-type nanocomposite magnets.
