Spatial heterogeneity is one of the key characteristics of real-world cities. Since socio-economic segregation is a typical manifestation in urban spatial systems, it encompasses aspects such as race, income, education, and so on. This paper proposes a non-parametric metric method with urban spatial network relationships. It utilizes the temporal statistics of quantum walks to measure the degree of social segregation in city regions. Through this approach, we are able to obtain consistent estimates of the segregation level in different areas of the city and apply it to the ethnic segregation in urban areas Experimental results demonstrate that the quantum walk method provides a more accurate quantification of urban social segregation and outperforms traditional random walk algorithm [1].
