Comparative Study of New Dual-Stator Consequent Pole Flux Reversal Arc PM Machines

In this paper, two new dual-stator consequent pole (CP) flux reversal Arc PM machines (DS-CPFRAPMMs) are proposed and comparative studied. The machines incorporate the design concepts of CP PM arrangement and dual-stator structure. By using CP PM arrangement, the PM flux leakage can be effectively reduced. In addition, the use of dual-stator structure is conducive to increase the space utilization and torque capability. The topologies and operation principles of DS-CPFRAPMMs are described. The electromagnetic characteristics of machines are comprehensively investigated and compared.
