摘要
•What is the primary question addressed by this study? This study explores the temporal association between antidepressant exposure and subsequent development of impulse control disorder (ICD) in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD).•What is the main finding of this study?Antidepressant exposure is associated with a significantly increased risk of developing ICD in PD after adjusting for other established ICD risk factors including dopamine agonist use, depression, levodopa daily equivalent dosage (LEDD), disease duration, sex, and age.•What is the meaning of the finding? Our findings suggest that antidepressants may play a role in the development of ICD in some individuals with PD, and that a personalized approach to PD management is necessary to minimize the risk of this challenging neuropsychiatric condition.
