High-Tg shape memory polyimide composites with “spot-plane” directional thermally conduction structure based on AlN nanoparticles and acidified graphene

•Graphene was acidified and was treated with electric field for high directional arrangement in composites.•AlN nanoparticles and acidified graphene were to construct “spot-plane” directional thermally conduction networks, promoting the response time of SMPI was only 20 s.•The smart PI composite can be applied in flexible electronics, intelligent response structures, and high-temperature deformation fields, etc.
