Brachial vessel injuries: High morbidity and low mortality injuries

These are among the most common vascular injuries seen in an urban trauma center. They are sometimes associated with median and ulnar nerve injuries. This vessel is much more amenable to surgical exposure. Injuries may require dissection below the elbow. They are at times associated with humeral fractures.
