摘要
This chapter is intended to cover the concepts of tissue biomechanics, biomechanical principles of articulator cartilage, and regeneration properties of cartilage tissue in the light of existing scientific literature. The tissue mechanics covered in this chapter include structures such as muscle, tendon, and more specifically articular cartilage (AC). This chapter describes the properties of AC with the two mechanisms responsible for the viscoelasticity of AC, which are flow dependent and flow independent to withstand the compressive and shear loading of joints with normal movement. Furthermore, this chapter discusses on degenerative process of tissue and the concept of regenerative properties of tissue structure at cellular level from a biological perspective.
