Application of Seismic Waveform Analysis Technology in Tight Sandstone Gas Reservoir Prediction

The Shanxi formation of Shilou Xi block in the eastern margin of Ordos Basin belongs to transitional facies deposition. The tight sandstone reservoir has the characteristics of thin thickness and rapid lateral change. However, the seismic resolution in this area is low and the seismic prediction of reservoir is difficult. Therefore, aiming at the tight sandstone gas reservoir of Shan23 Sub-member, the main target layer of Shanxi formation, this paper applies seismic waveform analysis technology to analyze and study the well-seismic response characteristics of the reservoir. The results show that there are three lithologic combinations and five seismic response modes in the tight sandstone gas reservoir of Shan23 Sub-member. The change of seismic waveform is closely related to the reservoir development. Three river channels are developed from the west and north to the south in the work area, and the river channels are overlapped in the central and south of the work area, forming a favorable development area. The research results effectively improve the seismic prediction accuracy of Shanxi Formation tight sandstone gas reservoir in the eastern margin of Ordos Basin, and provide strong technical support for finding high-yield gas wells.
