Numerical Simulation on Extreme Water Waves by Using New HLIGN-3 Deep Water Equations

A new velocity assumption along water depth for deep water waves was developed in the Green-Naghdi wave model. This new velocity assumption could also be used in HLIGN (High Level Irrotational Green-Naghdi) wave model. The new HLIGN-3 deep water equations are used here to simulate large regular waves and results are compared with fully nonlinear stream function wave theory. The new HLIGN-3 deep water equations are also used to simulate focus waves and results are compared with others’ experimental data and numerical results.
