The fine particulates directly emitted from the industrial production are the main primary source in the atmosphere. Thus, it is crucial to control industrial exhaust gases if the deep dust removal at a high temperature can be achieved without significantly increasing the filtered-wind resistance. For example, the flue gas from the coal-fired power plant needs to be treated with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst before baghouse dusting. Consequently, the SCR catalyst must be tolerated in harsh working conditions with high content of dust and alkali. Therefore, an SCR catalyst must have sound technical indicators, including high hardness, attrition, and alkali resistance. The reason for arranging SCR catalyst treatment before baghouse dusting is that the baghouse fails to withstand the high temperature of 250 °C, while the window temperature of the SCR catalyst is higher than 300 °C.
