Back cover image: The crystal plane exposure is of great significance to the structural stability of layered cathodes. In article number 10.1002/cey2.298, Qiu and co-workers deciphered the structural degradation discrepancy of Ni-rich cathode with a diverse proportion of [003] crystallographic textures, revealing the structure-activity relationship between crystal face oxygen release and structural stability. Although the exposure of [003] crystallographic textures was conducive to Li+ ions (de)intercalation, the easy release of lattice oxygen on the (003) planes would lead to rapid structural decay.
