摘要
Globally, diet-related noncommunicable diseases and obesity are the leading contributors to poor health and well-being. Improving population diets requires creating healthier food environments—the interface where people interact with the food system to acquire and consume foods. This article reviews the characteristics of food environments and provide an overview of current research on the associations between food environments, dietary behaviors, and obesity outcomes. Finally, we provide insight into policies and actions to create, enable, and sustain healthier food environments.
