Magnetic Field Analysis of 50 kW Wireless Power Transfer System for Heavy Duty Vehicles

This scientific publication delves into the magnetic field characteristics of high-power wireless transfer systems in the context of two trucks parked side by side with potential misalignment. The study aims to reflect real-life scenarios encountered in parking lots or depots, where multiple trucks undergo simultaneous charging. For comprehensive investigations, we employ unipolar coil arrangements specifically designed for high-power transfer applications. Electromagnetic field (EMF) analyses are performed using finite-element analysis modeling. With an evaluation method developed based on standards, the results show that depending on the relative positioning of the considered trucks, measures to guarantee EMF safety-level compliance might become necessary.
