Global Connections

Abstract We present percolation theory as the leading model to obtain global connections. It constitutes a geometric form of critical behavior and has a wide range of applications. In particular, it shows that critical behavior can arise without any specific interaction between the constituents. Besides continuum percolation, we discuss the discrete form of site perolation.
