Cover Feature: Promoted Photothermal Catalytic CO Hydrogenation by Using TiC‐Supported Co−Fe 5 C 2 Catalysts (Chem. Eur. J. 7/2023)

Driven by renewable solar energy, photocatalytic CO hydrogenation offers a promising way to synthesize valuable hydrocarbon chemicals. In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202202891), M. Zhong and co-workers show that an efficient photochemical and photothermal synergy between the nearby catalytic and plasmonic centers can accelerate the reaction. By using Co−Fe5C2 on a TiC photocatalyst, a 59 % C2+ selectivity and a 30 % CO conversion were obtained at the high GHSV of 12 000 mL g−1 h−1.
