A deployment method of multi-sensors based on parallel genetic algorithm for target coverage

Under the constraints of complex environment such as buildings and ground features blocking in cities, the full-coverage monitoring of buildings and other objects is of great significance for emergency rescue and anti-terrorism security. Compared with the traditional monitoring methods, using multi-sensors carried by UAVs to monitor targets has the advantages of strong mobility, cost-effective and so on. This paper proposes a method using parallel genetic algorithm (PGA) with Message Passing Interface (MPI) for target coverage monitoring. Firstly, the paper analyzes the factors of the target monitoring under the complex environment. And then, the paper has released the gene series coding and fitting function in the above PGA to achieve the monitoring task. Finally, the paper gives out analysis and conclusion on the PGA by simulation. It is of great application value to arrange stations for multi-sensors, coordinate the deployment position of multiple UAVs, and achieve full space coverage monitoring of targets.
