Chemical order, unit cell volume, and spontaneous magnetization in vapor-quenched single crystalline Fe0.6Al0.4 alloy thin film

To investigate the influence from chemical order to the spontaneous magnetization and unit cell volume in partially ordered B2 Fe-Al system, the vapor quenched single crystalline films of Fe 0.6 Al 0.4 were systematically studied. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the chemical order in Fe 0.6 Al 0.4 was changed from long to short range B2 order with lowering the deposition temperature. This chemical order changing accompanied the strong enhancement of spontaneous magnetization with the expansion of lattice volume.
