A Compact High Gain WideBand MIMO Antenna for 5G Applications

In this paper, a new design of four-port multi-input multi-output (MIMO) antenna operating at 60 GHz is proposed for 5th generation wireless communications. The total size of MIMO antenna is only $20\times 20\times 0.508\text{mm}^{3}$ . The proposed antenna exhibits an impedance bandwidth of 55.3-65.3 GHz. A maximum isolation enhancement of 16 dB is achieved in the most covered band without using any isolation coupling methods. As a result, a good average gain of 12 dBi is achieved over the operating band, with a maximum Envelope Correlation coefficient (ECC) of 0.003. The proposed antenna is a good candidate for 5G smart devices at 60 GHz.
