Stop-Go Effect Comparison between Ultra-High Resolution LEO SAR and GEO SAR

Compared with traditional synthetic aperture radar (SAR), stop-and-go assumption model is no longer applicable in ultra-high resolution low earth orbit (UHR LEO) SAR and geosynchronous orbit (GEO) SAR. In this paper, the impact of stop-and-go assumption model is divided into two parts for analysis: intra-pulse and inter-pulse. The influence sensitivity of UHR LEO SAR and GEO SAR to intra-pulse and inter-pulse satellite platform movement is compared. Firstly, the difference between stop-and-go model and real echo model in the two operating modes of SAR is analyzed from the perspective of signal echo. Then, the correctness of the proposed viewpoint is demonstrated by simulation experiment.
