Design of a Multifunctional Metasurface with Frequency-selective Absorbing Properties

Metasurfaces enable flexible and effective control over electromagnetic waves. To achieve low scattering of the antenna, this paper proposes a multifunctional metasurface with frequency-selective absorbing properties. The structure consists of a lossy layer and a lossless layer, where the lossy layer is composed of a metallic square ring with a lumped resistor, and the lossless layer is an improved Jerusalem cross gap structure. The proposed metasurface exhibits a 90% absorption rate within the frequency range of 9.76GHz-25.65GHz, with a relative bandwidth of 89.7% and an insertion loss of 1.02dB at 5.73GHz.
