Analysis in Optimal Feed Selection of Inductive Coupling Exciter Used for Characteristic Mode Excitation

An analysis in optimal feed selection of loop inductive coupling exciter (ICE) used for characteristic mode excitation is provided. Different positions of half loops and phases of the ICE feed have been placed, and the simulation comparison has been carried out in the software. For the excitation of the half-wavelength current mode, the optimal half-loop feeding position is the off-center installation, and the feeding port is set at the node of the full-wavelength current, so that the similarity between the excitation current and the parasitic mode current is reduced, and the parasitism of impurity mode is suppressed to the greatest extent. In terms of current distribution, we explain the reasons for choosing the feeding location of unbalanced inductive exciter (UIE) and balanced inductive exciter (BIE), which makes the feeding method more reasonable, and also provides some novel thoughts for the subsequent exploration of three-dimensional ICE.
