Coalition Game for Reliable Vehicle Twin Migration in Vehicular Metaverses

The convergence of the automotive industry and the metaverse has led to the emergence of vehicular metaverses. The vehicular metaverses act as a bridge connecting the physical and virtual space to offer immersive metaverse experiences to Vehicular Metaverse Users (VMUs). However, the movement of vehicles and the limited service coverage of Roadside Units (RSUs) require the migration of Vehicle Twins (VTs) to ensure uninterrupted immersive experiences for VMUs. This migration process involves RSUs contributing resources to facilitate efficient VT migration. Moreover, a single RSU is insufficient for supporting large-scale VTs migration. To address these challenges, we propose a coalition game approach framework for reliable VT migration in vehicular metaverses. Firstly, we calculate the reputation values of RSUs. To calculate the reputation values of RSUs based on the subjective logic model, we incorporate a time attenuation factor to account for the freshness of their interactions with VMUs. Based on the reputation values of RSUs, we formulate a coalition game where RSU coalitions are formed to collectively provide bandwidth resources for reliable and large-scale VTs migration. Then, the selected RSU coalition can serve for several VTs migration at the same time. Numerical results demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of the proposed schemes.
