Phase Error Analysis of Moving Target in Bistatic SAR FBP Imagery

In this paper, the phase error analysis of the moving target in bistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) filtered backprojection (FBP) imagery has been studied. Different from the conventional approach where phase error analysis is performed in the phase history domain, in this paper, we provide a detailed analysis of the 2-D phase error in the wavenumber domain after FBP formulation. The components of residual 2-D phase error in the wavenumber domain and their relationship are revealed. Based on the prior knowledge, the signatures of the moving target in FBP imagery can be predicted due to the Fourier relationship between the wavenumber domain and image domain. Finally, the simulation experiments are carried out to verify the predicted signatures of the moving target in FBP imagery.
