Joint mobility-aware offloading and UAV position optimization in Blockchain-enabled 5G

The integration of IoT and 5G networks has revolutionized various domains of technology and innovation including ITS and industrial IoT. In such a context, UAVs offer a promising solution for data collection and communication. Moreover, UAVs can be served as an edge server to process and handle the data generated and offloaded by IoT devices. However, the optimal offloading of data and positioning of UAVs besides the security and availability of data remains as challenges, especially in dynamic contexts. To address this issue, we propose a mobility-aware offloading and positioning approach that integrates the blockchain into UAV-based IoT systems, aiming at minimizing the time and energy consumption of the system. Simulation results show that our proposed approach outperforms other alternatives in terms of total time and energy consumption under various scenarios with different number of UAVs, IoT devices and time slots.
