Mathematical Analysis of Two and Three Unit Standby System along withGoodwill Loss using Regenerative Point Technique

In this study, a two-unit and three-unit standby system with variable demand is compared. The two models under consideration for comparison are Model 1, a two-unit system, and Model 2, a three-unit system, both of which have a standby facility and the ability for all units to become operational depending on demand while accounting for Goodwill loss that may manifest in Model 1. The installation cost impact of the new unit is also investigated, same as in Model 2, where an extra unit is introduced to make up for goodwill loss. By using a graphical analysis of the MTSF and profit functions, the two systems are compared. The various measures of both systems have been examined using the semi-Markov process and regeneration point technique.
