BOB-ACG study: Pulse methylprednisolone to prevent bilateral ophthalmologic damage in giant cell arteritis. A multicentre retrospective study with propensity score analysis

•Only study to evaluate the interest of pulse corticosteroids to prevent bilateral ophthalmologic damage in giant cell arteritis.•No reduction in bilateralisation with pulse corticosteroids in giant cell arteritis versus oral prednisone at 1mg/kg.•No improvement in visual acuity with pulse corticosteroids in giant cell arteritis versus oral prednisone at 1mg/kg.•Complications are more frequent in patients with pulse corticosteroids.
