Utilization of volumetric absorptive microsampling and dried plasma spot for quantification of anti-fungal triazole agents in pediatric patients by using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

•Microsampling procedures including VAMS represents a compliant alternative to conventional blood sampling by venipuncture.•Low blood volumes make VAMS suitable for routine Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) in neonates and pediatric patients.•Dried Plasma Spot and VAMS can be collected and shipped without refrigeration to laboratory for measurement of drug levels.•This latest aspect allows the home self-sampling and represents a valid strategy to promote remote TDM.•Based on our results, we propose VAMS for TDM of isavuconazole in pediatric patients during routine clinical practice.•Similarly, Dried Plasma Spot could be efficiently used for routine TDM of voriconazole and isavuconazole.
