PESTIPOND: A descriptive model of pesticide fate in artificial ponds: II. Model application and evaluation

•Time-dependent environmental fate model (PESTIPOND) for dissolved pesticides is developed and validated.•Model accurately predicts concentrations after episodic pesticide applications.•Model quantifies the mass partition of dissolved pesticides in the water and sediments of ponds.•Model estimates the contribution of each key process behind pesticide dissipation in artificial ponds.•PESTIPOND is freely available for use and further study.
