•Segmental heating dictates flow circulation, heat transfer, and entropy generation.•Enlarging by undulated walls enhances the heat exchange rate.•Bottom heating scenario maximizes fluid circulation and heat transfer (up to 132.91%).•LL or RR segmental heating is the best alternative to bottom heating.•Cavity and magnetic field angles at 90o enhance heat transfer.
