摘要
A distinctive location economy built on the commodification of everyday mediated spatial practices has emerged, raising new and pressing research questions for digital geography that transect digital and urban media, political economy, interaction design, and privacy and surveillance studies. We argue that researching the contours of the location economy and making sense of its social and political implications bring with it a need for a transdisciplinary approach to research in digital geography. We present three research vignettes that demonstrate the need to move from premise to practice of transdisciplinarity in digital geography: the location data marketplace, digital cultural probes, and smart cities. Each vignette illustrates the merits of bringing digital geography into transdisciplinary practice.
