Long-term outcomes after transanal total mesorectal excision for rectal cancer in Denmark: A prospective multicenter study from the late implementation phase

•TaTME can be implemented on a national level with acceptable long-term results.•The outcomes are comparable to other procedures for rectal malignancies.•There is a learning curve associated with TaTME, which should be taken in to account when implementing.•It is important to secure thorough training and proctoring when starting the approach.
