Polarization insensitive oblique incident angle stable ultra-thin nano ring resonator-based metamaterial absorber for visible and near-infrared region applications

摘要
•This article proposed a polarization-insensitive oblique incident angle stable ultra-thin compact metamaterial absorber (MMA) based on a simple ring resonator for the visible and near-infrared regions.•The average absorptivity is 98.54% in visible regions (380–700 nm) and 95.73% absorption in infrared regions (700–2450) under normal light incidence. Also, 99% absorption appeared at larger bandwidth of 480 nm to 700 nm wavelength.•The designed MMA shows absorption stability for oblique incidence angles up to 70° for the transverse electric (TE) and the transverse magnetic (TM) modes.
