Towards Developing a formal model for tracking Cyber-Security Investments in Jamaica

This position paper presents an argument that within Jamaica there is a need for larger financial investments in cyber security. We make the argument that local Jamaican companies that lack these financial investments are directly related to the lack of having the enabling cyber security capabilities. In this work we provide as contribution, what specific capabilities are required, and a measure of the specific dollar value investment based on the size of the company. In making the argument we highlight the specific challenges in quantifying the measure and some specific next steps that we will have to take to support making the presentation to the board.
