摘要
Software-defined networking is a novel networking paradigm that changes the static, vendor-specific and complex network into an agile, vendor-neutral and innovative network by separating the control plane from the data plane. With SDN, the network administrator manages the wired network in a more efficient way as it provides the centralized management of all network devices. This article provides a view on Mininet-WiFi, an emulation tool to experiment with software defined wireless network (SDWN). Mininet-WiFi extends the functionality of the Mininet emulator by adding mobility functions and WiFi interfaces. Bringing SDN into the wireless network enables centralized management of access points. As a result, it makes network management simple and efficient as we do not need to configure each access point individually.
