A Novel CIM and Knowledge Graph Dased Distribution Network Equipment Management System

The database update in traditional equipment management systems is cumbersome and time-consuming due to the used relational database, which cannot adapt to the explosive growth of data in the intelligent power distribution network. Moreover, their retrieval efficiency is relatively low and fails to realize multi-step relational path retrieval. This paper proposes a novel distribution network equipment management system based on the common information model (CIM) and knowledge graph, where graph database is used to store data and the adopted CIM is capable of removing the interaction barriers between different information systems. Using the modified CIM, the ontologies in the knowledge graph and their mutual relationships are constructed, which are utilized to construct the data layer. In this way, a domain-based knowledge graph is established in a top-down manner. Then, a query and question answering interface about distribution network equipment is designed to realize a multi-level data query, where the correlation analysis between data is used to accelerate the process of querying and answering. The proposed management system provides a friendly human-computer interaction interface, which could facilitate the information usage and then effectively enhance the system efficiency, reliability, and resilience.
