摘要
From 2004 to 2022, the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) was home to the master's degree program in Mind, Brain, and Education (MBE), a first-of-its-kind graduate program that focused on a new field at the intersection of neurobiology, cognitive psychology, and educational research and practice (Blake & Gardner, 2007; Fischer, 2009). Over the years, more than 500 students completed the one-year program and embarked on careers in a range of fields, from neuroscience research to classroom teaching. In 2022, the MBE program was integrated into a broader Human Development and Education master's degree program at HGSE. Although MBE is no longer a distinct program at Harvard, its intellectual principles remain, and the field it helped to launch continues to flourish across disciplines and professions in the U.S. and internationally. To mark this occasion, current and former program faculty and alumni gathered to reflect on the impact of the MBE field by considering two questions: 1) How has the field of MBE changed, and what developments particularly excite you in your area of the field? 2) What do you regard as the most significant impact of MBE on educational practice?
