摘要
The mobility of individuals is closely related to the place. Human mobility shows a high degree of temporal and spatial regularity. People have a significant tendency to return to places they frequently visit. Significant places, which refer to the places that people frequently visit, carry rich semantic meaning. Significant places are crucial for a better understanding of human mobility. This chapter introduces the general significant places mining technique. Three cases are used to show the application of the significant place mining: (1)analysis of life pattern changes in the Great Tokyo Area; (2) analysis of population changes after the Fukushima earthquake; and (3) analysis of the residential location of the park visitors in Tokyo and the surrounding area.
