Investigation of the Characteristics of Airfoils with Air Suction from the Upper Surface and a Given Pressure Distribution

A series of airfoils with a large construction height is numerically investigated using the energy methods for increasing the lift force. These airfoils are obtained by a combination of solving the inverse problem of aerodynamics and stochastic methods of global optimization. The phenomena of the laminar-turbulent transition and the formation of separation bubbles on the airfoil surface are taken into account.
